Tried this place for the first time today. We’ve wanted to come before but it was always busy with long lines, so we finally got the chance to try it. The drinks were really good foamy, creamy, and not too sweet, which made them easy to enjoy. If you’re looking for good drink options, this place is a nice choice. The matcha was good. The place is nice and cozy, and I love the interior and their bear logo too cute! I personally wasn’t a fan of the miso mushroom shokupan (just my preference), but my friend really liked it!

Chubby Cubby Cafe is such a lovely spot. Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. In the mornings I usually grab my usual hot matcha or hojicha latte for takeaway, and they never miss — that’s what I keep coming back for. I’ve also had a quiet early breakfast here and the egg on toast was simple and lovely, perfect for a calm start to the day. I’m constantly eyeing off the pastries and desserts in the display — the banoffee especially looks so good. One of these days I’ll finally try it. Special mention to their matcha and hojicha lattes though — and the coconut cloud matcha is a solid 10/10. Will definitely be back (again and again).

I go here all the time, pretty much every week at this point. They produce a solid matcha, it’s on the sweeter side but I love it. Coconut matcha cloud is the best one, and their coconut coffee cloud drink is also amazing. The desserts are delicious as well, like the banoffee cake, a must try. Can get pretty busy and there is barely any seating, but that’s fine since I normally get takeaway.

Chill spot for matcha desserts and a relaxed sit down. Ordered the Biscoff Matcha and it was enjoyable overall. The matcha flavour is present without being too bitter, and it pairs nicely with the sweetness from the Biscoff layers. The texture is soft and creamy, with a good balance between the matcha and cookie notes, though it does lean on the sweeter side. The space itself is very minimal and clean, lots of light wood, simple seating, and a calm atmosphere. It’s not crowded or noisy, making it a nice place to sit and chat rather than a quick grab and go. Feels more like a quiet dessert café where you can take your time.

Very cute matcha spot that uses the famous Marukyu Koyamaen matcha powder in their drinks which makes them good quality. We got the regular matcha latte and the matcha espanner. It is a bit pricey but they make it authentically and there is nice seating inside as well. Tastes yummy but wouldn’t get it regularly due to the price but I’m sure they use high quality ingredients to justify for pricing. They got other cool flavours like double matcha, biscoff, and yuzu cream.

If you’re a matcha lover in Sydney, Chubby Cubby Cafe is your new paradise! I popped in to escape the sun and left completely obsessed. The Banana Oreo Matcha is a revelation—creamy banana pudding, velvety matcha sauce, and crunchy Oreo layers create a party of textures in every spoonful. The “Christmas Tree” toast, topped with fresh strawberries and matcha cream, is as beautiful as it is delicious, while the light matcha tiramisu and crisp matcha macarons are perfect finishes.

Loved everything about this place! Very cool Japanese style cafe. I got the Biscoff matcha which was the best I’ve had in Sydney. They use good quality Japanese matcha, highly recommend for matcha lovers

Came to try their matcha, we got the ichigo matcha (strawberry matcha) and matcha coconut. Both were pretty nice but felt the matcha coconut one was a bit on the bitter side. Ichigo matcha was a bit sweeter but the matcha taste could’ve been a bit stronger. We did enjoy it regardless and would definitely come back to try their other drinks and food! The cafe itself is quite clean and aesthetic, service was friendly too.
